The Grampians Cricket Association A Grade commenced the one-day season on Saturday with Pomonal hosting Youth Club and St Andrews playing Buangor-Tatyoon.

In the first game at Central Park it was Pomonal who won the toss and went about setting about a defendable score for their bowlers.
Lynden Brewis (30) was the top scorer for the Tigers who finished their 40 overs at 8-104. Nic Baird took 3-19 off his eight overs. In reply Youth Club's innings started off shakily losing both openers before scoring a run.
Baird and Koby Stewart put on a 30-run partnership before Baird was dismissed.
Stewart then continued the scoring for Youth Club finishing on 58 not out with Youth Club passing the score in the 28th over to finish on 5-110.

At Alexandra Oval Buangor-Tatyoon batted first and scored an impressive 6-135 on the large playing surface.
With Jarrod Blandford not playing James Phillips (29), Michael Harricks and Henry Armstrong (both 25 not out) were the main run scorers for Buangor-Tatyoon.
Paul Menzies was the only multiple wicket taker for St Andrews finishing with 2-20.
In reply St Andrews were never able to get partnerships together being bundled out for 73 with Sam Summers (29) the only resistance. Harricks finished with four wickets for Buangor-Tatyoon.
This weeks games see Pomonal host Swifts-Great Western at North Park and Youth Club playing host to St Andrews at Central Park.
In B grade last week we unfortunately had the first forfeit of the season with Navarre not being able to find the required players for the game.
In other matches Halls Gap 1 continued their good start to the season defeating Rhymney-Moyston and Chalambar defeated Buangor-Tatyoon in a high scoring match. This week's games see Halls Gap 1 vs Buangor/Tatyoon at Halls Gap, Swifts-Great Western vs Halls Gap 2 and Navarre at home against Chalambar.
OTHER NEWS:
The Under 16's were called off last Friday night due to the heat so no games were played. Tonight's games are Swifts-Great Western vs Tatyoon at North Park and Halls Gap vs St Andrews at Halls Gap.
In the Under 13's Halls Gap had a big win vs Wickliffe Lake Bolac, Tatyoon and St Andrews both had tight wins against Buangor and Pomonal respectively.
Sunday will see representative cricket return to the region as Grampians Cricket Association takes on Horsham Cricket Association at Central Park.
The match will be contested after the curtain raiser of the new Stawell Strikers Junior Girls team. The association is hoping for a crowd to support both teams.
