HAWKESDALE captain Lachie Glare is keen to see his team’s losing streak come to an end. The reigning Grassmere Cricket Association (GCA) premier has lost its last two games to slip to fourth on the ladder.  “It has been a combination of playing good teams in good form and us missing a few players,” Glare said of the recent defeats.  “We do really need to win this one to help us get a spot in the finals. “Yambuk aren’t too far behind so we need to start winning.”  While the Cats are struggling to find their best form, Killarney is in red-hot touch. The Crabs are coming off a huge win over Mailors Flat. They bowled Mailors Flat out for under 200, but the most impressive part of the win came with the bat. Killarney made 424, led by 258 from opener Brendan Chatfield. The win has the Crabs a point clear of Grassmere on top of the ladder. Hawkesdale is six points further back, meaning the Cats are still in the race for a top-two position should it rediscover its best form.  “It’s still a possibility to make the top two if we can start winning again,” Glare said.
