Ararat Rural City Council have started the Christmas season with new decorations going up all around the municipality.
This year there is a 9.3m tall Christmas tree on the Corner of Vincent Street and High Street, as well as three 3m tall trees in Willaura, Lake Bolac and Pomonal.
ARCC chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said unfortunately, big Christmas celebrations and gatherings this year had been limited by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Council was unable to get the wider public involved in-person with our traditional Christmas celebrations," he said
"We still want people to get excited about Christmas and make this holiday period as festive as possible. We have created a short video with some local community members to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, which will be on our website soon."
