Coaches will replace Ararat and Ballarat line trains for the entire journey over the next 11 days as maintenance works are rolled out.
The works will take place from the morning of Tuesday, 27 April with trains returning from the first service Saturday, 8 May as crews deliver track maintenance and major upgrades to several rail bridges and stations.
Replacement coaches will run a combination of express and stopping all stations with passengers advised to download a temporary timetable from the V/Line website to plan their journey.
Crews will also deliver Melton Station upgrade works, including the construction of a footpath to connect the new platform one entry point to the level crossing, widening and renewal work on parts of platform one, CCTV installation, relocating myki stands, four new accessible parking spots and installing additional platform shelters.
Other works include rail milling, track and signal maintenance works, bridge deck replacement works, level crossing maintenance and civil inspection and maintenance works.
Coaches will again replace Ballarat line trains as further rail milling works take place each night between Wednesday, 12 May and Thursday, 20 May.
During this time level crossing removal works will also be carried out at Ardeer - between Friday, 14 May and Sunday, 16 May - with coaches replacing trains between Southern Cross and Melton during the day and then for the entire journey at night to allow for milling works to also take place.
Masks are mandatory on public transport. To ensure the safety of all workers and the community, all construction and maintenance work undertaken will operate under a High Risk COVID Safe plan.
Passengers can find out if they're affected and download a temporary V/Line timetable at vline.com.au.
