The Ararat Show committee met at the Ararat Show Society Pavilion on Wednesday, March 10. to decide the show's fate.
The committee members were unanimous in their decision to hold the show in 2021 but did acknowledge the pandemic may necessitate some changes being made to the show.
Committee president Gwenda Allgood said after so many events had been cancelled she was eager to give the community something to look forward to in 2021.

"A lot of other shows aren't going ahead this year, they've decided not to run. But I think Ararat's in a good place this year," she said.
The show was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID-19. However, the committee had been able to recoup some of the funds it had spent in preparation for the show through various government initiatives.
Ms Allgood said this put the show in a secure position financially but did note sponsors may be difficult to find because of the effect of COVID-19 on businesses.

"We've lost so many businesses and its pretty tough for people at the moment. So, we have to take that into consideration," she said.
At the meeting, Russell Begelhole moved the motion for the Ararat Show to run in 2021, which was seconded by Gaye Williams and passed by the other committee members.
The show will run in late October.
The committee resolved to meet again on Wednesday, April 14 to begin discussing its plans for the show in more detail.
