The Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal Willaura Branch traditionally holds the event at Willaura Recreation Reserve.
But Willaura Branch president Jo Byron said holding the Family Fun Day this year would have been a major challenge.
"The regulations make it difficult for our group to run it safely and confidently," she said.

"Also the recreation reserve is being renovated, so there's no facility for us to utilise."
However, Ms Byron said due to the generosity the community showed during 2020's appeal, she is still optimistic the appeal can be a success.
"Last year we just asked for donations into our bank account or through using the virtual tin. Just doing this we raised $7800, which is excellent," she said.
OTHER NEWS:
In addition to being able to donate to the account and the virtual tin, the Willaura Branch will also be raising funds through a silent wood auction and a raffle.
The silent wood auction includes five different lots of wood people can bid for. These lots were donated to the branch by various locals.
People will also be able to buy raffle tickets at Willaura Bakery to go into the draw to win a hamper.
