The waiting game is over for Landsborough Blue after notching up it's first Ararat and District Tennis Association win on Saturday. After going the first four rounds without any luck it was a depleted Buangor outfit that stood in Blue's way. The visiting Blue Burrahs grabbed their chances while they could and soared into a winnable position leading into the mixed matches. An age difference of more than five times was no barrier for young gun Theo Browne and Ararat import John Hannett, forming a formidable partnership for Blue. The 28 game chase was too much for the home side in the end as Landsborough Blue ran away with a commanding 41 game win. Claire Monaghan's return was a monster effort, winning all three sets after only giving birth to their second child a fortnight earlier. The combined club flexed their muscles in the blokes section to give them a quality buffer over the home team. Elmhurst-Amphitheatre got the jump and never looked back, handing Josh Barker, Matt Veitch and super sub Alex Drosg their third win each for the afternoon and themselves a tough 14 game victory.
