A FIRE alert in Armstrong has been deemed a false alarm by emergency services.
Authorities received reports of smoke at 5pm Thursday afternoon and four Country Fire Authority tankers attended the site.
However, a CFA spokesperson confirmed that there was no fire and crews had left the scene by about 5.30pm.
A low to moderate fire danger rating has been declared for the south west district over the weekend, with cooler weather forecast except for Friday, which is expected to reach the low thirties.
