HALLS Gap police have cautioned visitors to the Grampians over safety after ambulance services were required twice in just six days.

On Sunday October 6 a 24 year old British woman holidaying in the region was conveyed to Stawell Regional Health with a broken arm and severe forehead gash after she crashed an e-bike.
The woman collided with a safety barrier around 11.45am on Grampians Road about a kilometre south of the Halls Gap Visitor Information Centre.
"For some reason she's lost control, veered to the left and hit a safety barrier rail, gone over the handlebars and landed on a bitumen driveway head first," Leading Senior Constable Kellie Harris said.
"People need to ride at their capabilities and not ride flat out. We've had quite a few near misses over the last couple of years.
"It's a shared path used for bikes and pedestrians so the big warning is to ride at your capability."
A second person required hospitalization after falling off a rock on October 1.
A 13-year-old male from Melbourne was airlifted out of Halls Gap to the Royal Children's Hospital after breaking his wrist around 11am.
"They set out hiking along Mackeys Peak trail from the township to hike to the Pinnacle but they only got about 300 metres," Leading Senior Constable Harris said.
"He was pretending to rock climb on a large boulder to the side of the walking trail and he's climbed up a short distance, jumped back and landed on unsteady ground causing him to topple over.
"He had a gash to his head and a severely broken wrist. A decision was mad eot chopper him straight down to the Royal Children's Hospital.
"Now the weather is warming up Halls Gap tends to attract a lot more tourists, hikers and people doing outdoor activities. It's a general reminder that if you're going hiking, be prepared, have a fully charged mobile phone, day pack, water, and wear appropriate hiking shoes.
"Stay on the paths and remember it's not advised to climb the rocks or do anything they shouldn't be doing."
