Schmozzle opens at the Ararat Performing Arts Centre Thursday night and will also run Friday night.
The musical production was written by grade five and six teachers Matt Haddow and David Colins.
In their directors note they promise an abundance of Dad jokes.
"This has only been possible since the spawn of our own creations," they said.
"It has been fantastic seeing our young people progress through the process of auditioning and applying for roles.
"Seeing them increase in confidence has been amazing; improvements in acting, voice projection and working as a team have been the stand-outs.
"After many months of practice the hard work has paid off."It has definitely been a team effort."
Rehearsals began as far back as April and the students are all involved in the production, whether that be on-stage or as backstage crew creating props, lighting, choreography or even marketing the events.
The production tells the story of "two young adventurers who, by happenstance, find themselves helping a beaten and downtrodden village to rise against the scourge of a malignant and evil emperor."
It's full of energetic songs and fantastic enthusiasm from all the students. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children. Children under two get free entry.
