Pyrenees Premium Cuts had its burgers, sausages, pork, poultry, and more pitted against other butchers across Victoria's northwest as part of the Australian Meat Industry Council's annual awards.
People taste and vote on the meat they believe to be the best, with Pyrenees Premium Cuts being named as the winner in seven of the 17 categories. It also came second in seven categories and third in two.
Pyrenees Premium Cuts owner Hayley Collicoat said the awards reflected the high standards the business aims to achieve.

"It's our quality and the consistency of our products," she said.
"It's the fact that we hand make everything too. From breaking down the meat packs, getting our trim for our sausage product, whether it be beef, lamb or chicken, and then hand weighing all of our spices and mixing it all by hand. It's how we make a quality product."
Pyrenees Premium Cuts opened in Ararat in December 2020, adding to the existing sites in Maryborough and Avoca.
OTHER NEWS:
These sites have previously enjoyed success at Sausage King Contest but compete in a different region.
Due to its impressive results in the northwest region, Pyrenees Premium Cuts will compete in the state championships in November.
Ms Collicoat said it was encouraging to see the Ararat store receive recognition so quickly.
"It's a good start for this region," she said.
"We plan on building on this next year. Hopefully we can win a few more."
For those struggling to choose what to try, Ms Collicoat recommends the honey, mint and rosemary lamb sausages, which were the winners of the Australian lamb category.
