THE Victoria Police are investigating another suspicious fire outside of Stawell, this time a grass fire on Thursday, January 6.

Emergency services crews were called to the Stawell property located on Farmers Creek and Clarke roads, in Morrl Morrl at 10.44am.
Stawell Sergeant Russell Brown said the cause of the fire is still being determined.

"Witnesses notified 000 from a neighbouring property, the fire was extinguished and the Police have deemed it suspicious," he said.
"We have got the arson chemist coming out this morning and the Ararat CIU to try and figure out the specifics.
"There was a large area of approximately nine hectares of grass burnt on the farming property and no building structures were damaged."
The Morrl Morrl property fire adds to a long list of suspicious fires in the area since new years.

"There have been a number of fires this week and whether they are connected, it is still being investigated," Sergeant Russell Brown said.
"There has been one suspect spoken to and interviewed in relation to some some of the fires at this stage."
