Ararat Police Acting Sergeant Daniel Boromeo wanted to help stress the importance of the community keeping safe this New Year's period.
Police are warning motorists not to become complacent - with significant enforcement and highly-visible patrols to continue across the state throughout the New Year period.
There have been a further six lives lost on Victorian roads since Friday, December 17, bringing the total lives lost to 232 this year, compared with 210 at the same time last year.
"The importance for drivers to be patient and courteous," Sergeant Broromeo said.
"To be conscious of fatigue and to drink responsibly (not to exceed the prescribed alcohol limits) better still if someone is thinking of having a drink don't drive."

With temperatures reaching 40 degrees Sergeant Broromeo also wanted to raise the awareness of water safety during this time.
"2021 saw an increase in people drowning, always know your limits in and around water, ensure children are always supervised," he said.
Sergeant Broromeo also wanted the wider Ararat community to be aware of potential hazards in the community this summer.
"If out and about, be responsible, if in the sun, hiking or doing strenuous activities stay hydrated," he said.
"If hiking, let someone know where you are going and what time you will return and always be aware of hazards, waterways, cliff edges, snakes and the like.
"For anyone having a drink, drink responsibly."
