A different kind of school holiday fun is on the cards with a circus show and workshops coming to Ararat for the summer school holidays.
Thanks to funding from the Regional Arts Fund and support from CGLLEN and the Ararat Rural City Council, free circus workshops for the youth of Ararat will be run.
Alexandra Oval will host the sessions and it will also host a free professional circus show with the community at the during the summer school holidays.
Caz Walsh, from Red Canvas Productions, will be one of the performers running the show said the event is "all sold out".
"Originally our capacity was 200 people but now the Ararat Rural City Council has allowed us to up it to 500 people.
"The remaining tickets were snapped up in a day, I wish more people could come."
Ms Walsh said it was a "better result" the show was forced to be postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.
"The weather will be nicer and there will be more people around so it is a great result for all," she said.
"It will be under the summer skies rather than the stars."
Ms Walsh has been a professional circus performer for the past 12 years, performing around Australia and internationally with some of Australia's biggest circus companies.
She is now based in Castlemaine with her partner (also a circus performer) and two young daughters.
And they now tour around with their two circus tents and large aerial rig (the rig will be set up on Alexandra Oval).
The workshops will be held from from 10am-12pm on January 4,5 and 6, with the show on January 7 at 6:30pm.
