The 2022 Lake Bolac Eel Festival will be launched lakeside on Sunday November 21 2021.
The biennial festival will finally be able to return in 2022 after a two year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acting Eel Festival chair Rachel Taylor said the committee was pleased to be able to finally announce the festival could proceed.
"The Eel Festival has been held regularly since 2005," she said.
"The committee has been waiting for State Government directions to know if it could resume."
Ms Taylor is taking the reins from former festival chair Chris Lawton.
Founding member the Warumpi Band Neil Murray has also been announced to be in attendance for the launch of the festival on November 21.
The festival will comply with the COVIDSafe Event Plan for an event of its scale.
Program details will be announced at the launch which will precede the festival's annual general meeting.
The launch of the festival will begin at 11:30am Sunday November 21 at Lake Bolac, near the boat shed.
