Swifts-Great Western started their premiership defence with a comfortable 29-run win over Youth Club.
After losing opener Sam Cocks in the opening overs, Tom (25) and Jesse Eckel (24) wrestled back the momentum, combining for a 39-run partnership.
Aiden Graveson would score a further 21 runs after the fall of Jesse Eckel to help push the total to 5-99 after 20 overs.
Harvey Evans was the best bowler for Youth Club with two wickets from his four overs.
Youth Club's chase got off to the worst possible start with opening batsmen out with only six runs on the board.
Robert Scott top scored with 16 runs and Nic Baird scored 13 runs with Youth Club finishing 8-70 after 20 overs.
Matt Heffer, Brady Miller and Tom Eckel all picked up two wickets for Swifts-Great Western
Halls Gap defeated Pomonal at North Park (Stawell)
Halls Gap demolished Pomonal by 10 wickets in both team's first match of the season.
Pomonal won the toss and decided to bat first with Lynden Brewis top scoring with 43 runs.
Lachlan Smart was the best bowler for Halls Gap with 2-17 from his four overs.
Halls Gap openers Luke Stevens (29 runs) and Lachlan Smart (54 runs) put on a 90-run stand to chase down the target set by Pomonal.
Chalambar were defeated by Buangor-Tatyoon at Gordon Street Recreation Reserve (Ararat)
Buangor-Tatyoon easily accounted for Chalambar by eight wickets in round one action.
Chalambar won the toss and decided to bat, however struggled to get runs on the board.
Teague Vincent top scored with 15 runs and Justin Barbieri was next best with 10 runs to bring the total to 7-44.
Alexander McDougall and Jacob Bates both picked up two wickets for Buangor-Tatyoon.
Jacob Bates top scored with 22 as Buangor-Tatyoon easily reached the Chalambar target with 11 overs to spare.

Round Two
Swifts-Great Western defeated Pomonal at Central Park (Stawell)
Swifts-Great Western registered their second win of the day with a 102-run thumping of Pomonal.
After winning the toss and batting first Swifts-Great Western posted a mammoth target of 3-141.
Tom Hannett top scored with 60 runs and Tom Eckel was also outstanding with 53 runs.
Swifts-Great Western kept Pomonal to 8-39 off 20 overs, restricting every batter to single digits.
Matt Heffer was the best bowler in the match, only allowing two runs, while taking two wickets and bowling two maidens from his four overs.
Halls Gap defeated Youth Club at North Park (Stawell)
Halls Gap was able to account for Youth Club by three wickets due to some Lachlan Smart brilliance.
Youth Club struggled to score after winning the toss and deciding to bat first.
Number eight Wes Illig top scored with 20 runs.
Caleb Bretherton was Halls Gap's best bowler with 2-0 from his four overs.
Lachlan Smart's 35 runs single-handedly got Halls Gap over line as the rest of his team fell for single figures.
Young Jimmy Duxson was Youth Club's best bowler with four wickets, while Nic Baird took three.

Round One
Swifts-Great Western defeated St Andrews at Great Western Recreation Reserve
Swifts-Great Western defeated St Andrews by five wickets with both teams batting well.
After being sent in to bat St Andrews scored 6-119 with Tom Mills top scoring with 68 runs.
Tom Robinson was the Swifts-Great Western best bowler with 4-7 from his four overs.
Travis Nicholson (47 runs) and Marc Collins (33 runs) helped chase down the St Andrews target within the 20 overs.
Matt Spalding took two wickets from his three overs for St Andrews.
Rhymney-Moyston defeated by Halls Gap at Moyston Recreation Reserve
Halls Gap defeated Rhymney-Moyston by four wickets in their round one encounter.
Dan Walker top scored with 35 runs as Rhymney-Moyston would go on to score 5-86 after 20 overs.
Adam McCormack (51 runs) helped Halls Gap chase down the target with four wickets left.
Daniel Taylor picked up two wickets from his four overs for Rhymney-Moyston.
Week two preview
A Grade:
Buangor-Tatyoon will be looking to win their second match of the season after defeating Chalambar in round one by eight wickets. They will be facing Swifts-Great Western, followed up by Halls Gap in back-to-back matches at Alexandra Oval.
Swifts-Great Western had a terrific start to their premiership defence in week one. They defeated Youth Club by 29 runs and Pomonal by 102 runs. The defending champions will once again play two matches this upcoming Saturday, facing Buangor-Tatyoon followed by Chalambar.
Chalambar were comprehensively defeated by Buangor-Tatyoon in round one by eight wickets in their first week in the top flight. This week they will face Halls Gap and Swifts-Great Western at Gordon Street Recreational Reserve.
Halls Gap went two from two in week one, defeating Youth Club and Pomonal. In week two they face Buangor-Tatyoon at Alexandra Oval.
Last week, Pomonal lost to Halls Gap by 10 wickets and by 102 runs to Swifts-Great Western. This week Pomonal will face Youth Club at Pomonal Cricket Ground.
In week one Youth Club lost to Swifts-Great Western by 29 runs and will fancy their chances this week against Pomonal.

B Grade:
Swifts-Great Western defeated St Andrews last week by five wickets with Tom Robinson (4/7) shining with the ball in hand. This week they will have the bye as Buangor-Tatyoon withdrew their B Grade side on the eve of the season.
Navarre had the bye last round as they were due to face Buangor-Tatyoon, however, this week they will face Halls Gap at home.
Halls Gap defeated Rhymney-Moyston by four wickets due to Adam McCormack scoring an impressive 51 runs. In round two they face Navarre at Navarre Recreational Reserve.
Rhymney-Moyston lost to Halls Gap by four wickets with Dan Walker top scoring with 51 runs. This week they face St Andrews at home.
St Andrews lost to Swifts-Great Western by five wickets in a high-scoring match. Tom Mills was superb with the bat, scoring 68 runs. In round two St Andrews take on Rhymney-Moyston at Moyston Recreation Reserve.
