The Buangor Community Sports Centre has received funding to purchase outdoor blinds from Pacific Hydro's Ararat Sustainable Communities fund.

The Club is one of seven community groups to receive support, totalling $38,000, from Pacific Hydro in the 2021 funding period.
Buangor Community Sports Centre secretary Katie Sanford said the centre will help he community, coming out of lockdown.
"Regional venues like ours reduce social isolation and support community mental health and wellbeing," she said.
"Providing a safe and enjoyable outdoor space where the community can come together all year round is especially important in the current climate."

Used by various local groups, including; Buangor Cricket club, Buangor Tennis Club, Buangor Primary School's sporting programs as well as for weddings, funerals, fundraisers and social events - The Buangor Community Sports Centre is a vital meeting hub for the local community to come together to socialise and celebrate.
Other local projects receiving funding include:
- Ararat Basketball Association - protective padding for venue
- Ararat Bowling Club - accessible bowls for all abilities
- Ararat Eagles Football Netball Club - safety equipment for youth sports
- Ararat & District U3A - science for seniors
- Greenhill Lake Development Board - promotional notice board
- Lake Bolac Information & Business Centre - upgrade Community Centre computers

Pacific Hydro senior project leader Bernadette Holland said the company is proud of how far its program has come.
"Since its inception, Pacific Hydro has invested almost $5 million to support over 1000 local projects in host communities across regional Australia," she said.
"This year alone we are funding over $600,000 worth of projects across Australia.
"Pacific Hydro is proud to give back to the community-identified projects and organisations that serve and benefit the people who neighbour our renewable energy projects.
"Many organisations have shared that without Pacific Hydro's help; their projects would not move forward or serve nearly as many people."
Pacific Hydro's Community Investment Program aims to empower local residents to identify the initiatives and projects Pacific Hydro should support.
Members of the local community who serve on the Fund Allocation Panel review and assess applications and decide which projects will receive funding each year.
