This year's East Grampians Health Service Residents' Support Group Shopping Spree will continue with the week-long format, to ensure a COVID-safe experience for both shoppers and participating businesses.
This year's Shopping Spree will be held over a week. Shoppers who have a passport (ticket) will be able to shop (subject to opening hours and shopper density restrictions for each individual business) at their leisure during the week of November 8-14 inclusive.
The Shopping Spree is a fundraiser for 70 Lowe Street and Garden View Court aged care at East Grampians Health Service.
"The week-long format last year worked well for both businesses and shoppers so we decided to continue with this format, to allow a COVID-safe shopping experience for our passport holders, as well as showing support for our local businesses who have experienced another very difficult year," Residents' Support Group president Marlene Goudie said.
"Businesses are offering a generous discount for passport holders, so as well as picking up some great bargains and early Christmas presents, you will be helping our local businesses and also raising funds for aged care at East Grampians Health Service."
Passports are now available for shoppers to purchase from 2 Taggs and CAS Footwear, both in Barkly Street. Passports cost $20 per shopper.
All passport holders will go into the draw to win one voucher from one of the participating businesses. Tickets for a giant raffle will be available in most businesses.
Twenty one businesses are taking part, including: Zest Living, CAS Footwear, 2 Taggs, Latus Jewellers, We're Knot Crazy, Foster's Mensland, CAS Couture, Something Beautiful, Growmaster Grampians, RACV Shop, Jerrams Auto Part and Electronics Centre, House of Nai Asian Grocery, Intersport SportzBiz, Lyal Eales, Desi Swag Indian Restaurant, Fer Co, Willaura Bakery, Mountain Side Wines, Grampians First Aid, Miners Ridge Vineyard and ATR Wines.
"We look forward to seeing Barkly Street alive with activity during our Shopping Spree Week," Mrs Goudie said.
