East Grampians Health Service acting chief executive Peter Armstrong said to the best of his knowledge there was no link between the confirmed case in Ararat and Stawell.
"Not as far as we know," he said.
On Friday, EGHS infection control coordinator Leanne Atkinson said there was no indication of extra vaccinations being supplied to Ararat, however if the cluster grew she imagined it would be the case.
"I haven't heard that there will be extra vaccines supplied to us at this stage," she said.
"I imagine that if we start to develop a cluster with more cases that will certainly lead to more vaccines.
"In that case we would have to look to extending our vaccination clinic hours and perhaps do some weekend vaccinations as well."
On Thursday, it was revealed there was COVID-19 fragments in the wastewater. The Ararat Advertiser understands the water is tested weekly.
Mr Armstrong said EGHS didn't control when testing occurs. He said, on Friday, he would clarify with the Public Health Unit if testing would increase since there was a positive case in the region.
Grampians Public Health Unit medical director Rosemary Aldrich said she thinks what residents find when COVID comes to regional areas it has been a long time since it's been or it's a remote thing that it happens somewhere else.
"It's really important to be reminded by these kind of events that COVID is not very far away from people in Victoria," she said.
"People come to our regions, do so for permitted reasons. Sometimes they may come unknowingly exposed, unknowingly infected. We can't smell COVID. We can't see it, we can't hear it - it has not physical presence until it makes it presence known.
"It's really important we remain careful and cautious in everything we do."
