Owner Mahesh Koli previously operated a similar business in Nhill and said Ararat presented unique opportunities.
"We used to live in Nhill before and had a similar type of business there. We had been operating it for the last three years," he said.
"There are many more faces, more businesses. There is a lot of competition here, whereas in Nhill there was much less."

He said he planned to expand upon the menu of the previous owners.
"We want to keep all of the same things as the previous owners and add some more, like parmas and more seafood. We want to make pizzas everyday," he said.
"We are trying to open on the weekend as well. Tasty Bird used to only be open from Monday to Friday, but maybe after one week when we get used to all of the people we can open on the weekends as well."
Mr Koli thanked the Ararat community for their support.
"The community has been nice. We already knew a few people here. We started on Monday, and a few of our customers are regulars now. Very welcoming.
"I would like to thank the people who are supporting this business like they supported the previous owners for the past 10 years. We will be giving people what they want and we want to do as good as we can."
