AME Systems has helped the Australian Defence Force achieve a landmark moment, as Boeing Australia and the Royal Australian Air Force conducted the first test flight of the Loyal Wingman uncrewed aircraft.

The company was one of more than 35 industry teams across Australia involved in the project. Its specialists worked on the electrical wiring systems for the aircraft.
AME Systems managing director Nick Carthew said he was proud of the company's contribution to the project.
"Our team has combined their skills to complete some fantastic work during this project and I couldn't be more pleased of what they have achieved," he said.

The Loyal Wingman is designed to function as part of a human-machine team protecting piloted aircraft. It is the first unmanned developed for the Royal Australian Air Force.
Mr Carthew said AME Systems staff had benefited from their experience working project.
"The unique Wingman design provides an excellent opportunity for our people to further up-skill across our business on complex components, processes and assemblies," he said.
