District Support Officer Nicole Bendelle of the Ararat Fire Brigade said due to COVID-19, Santa's visit will be slightly different than previous years.
"We're only having designated spots and we'll probably be at each spot for a maximum of 10 minutes," she said.
"Depending on how Santa feels he might get off the truck or he might stay on."

While the forecast suggests it is unlikely, Santa may not be able to attend if the brigade is needed to put out a fire.
Ms Bendelle said after a challenging year, the brigade is eager to get out among the township and put some smiles on faces.
"It's a bit of a re-engagement with the community this year, just to let everyone know we are still around," she said.
"Obviously everyone's had a bit of a difficult time with COVID and everything, so it's just about trying to bring joy to the kids."
Parents are urged to ensure their children remain a safe distance from any moving vehicles.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to follow the Ararat Fire Brigade's Facebook page where any updates about potential changes to the event will be posted.
