The former Ararat Storm players said the draft was a new experience for both herself and family.
With unknown expectations, Simmons will watch the draft on womens.afl at her family home in Stawell.
"We're not around people who have experienced this before and can tell us what to expect," she said.
"We'll be sitting around the computer watching the draft."
Simmons said she despite being excited, she was feeling a lot of uncertainty.
"I'm not one of those players who will definitely get picked up," she said.
"I have done a lot of training in preparation. We'll just have to wait and see.
"I'm nervous and I think it will go as the time creeps closer.

Simmons played just two games with the GWV Rebels this year before the season was cancelled, and the National Draft combine, an event to test the physical attributes of potential draftees, was dramatically different last month.

Simmons said she was disappointed the combine didn't go ahead as per normal.
"I was really keen to see the other girls and try to make a mark on the testing," she said.
"A lot of preparation went into preparing for the testing.
"I'm a bit jealous of the other states - I wish we had combine. I just think it would have been awesome."
