Ararat Rural City chief executive Dr Tim Harrison said the team has worked hard to ensure all playgrounds are safe for families to use.
"Our parks and gardens team check all of our playground equipment regularly. It's no different even when they're closed," he said
"The current restrictions have allowed council's team to take some extra time to provide an even greater level of care than they were already doing.
"We're well prepared for playgrounds to reopen and they will continue to be sanitized and checked regularly."
Each playground has been sanitized daily during COVID-19 restrictions and the team also inspects equipment every three months and provides new soft fall mulch.
Across the municipality there are 24 playgrounds and all of them are checked regularly to ensure they are kept in a safe condition.
