A HORSHAM man will face Stawell Court on Tuesday, after Ararat police allegedly located drugs hidden inside a VCR in his car.

In a statement on Tuesday morning, Victoria Police said officers were patrolling the Western Highway at 5pm on Monday when they found a 48-year-old man in a Mercedes Benz parked behind a roadhouse, not licensed to drive.
"But it was an old VCR in the car that drew the attention of police," the statement said.

"On closer examination, the old video player was found to contain 29 grams of heroin and 57 grams of methylamphetamine secreted inside.
"A further search of the vehicle located more than $1600 and a large amount of power tools.
"Police will conduct further enquiries to determine whether the tools are stolen.

"The Horsham man was arrested and charged with a number of offences including drug possession and unlicensed driving."
Police impounded the man's car for 30 days.
