Halls Gap police Leading Senior Constable Kellie Harris said previous problems with out-of-towners visiting had virtually stopped.
"It's extraordinarily quiet," she said.
"We had an issue in the week leading up to the Easter weekend in the bush campsites, the unofficial campsites.
"Since Parks Victoria closed the Grampians down, the couple of people who were sneaking through town have disappeared."

Leading Senior Constable Harris said she and Parks Victoria had patrolled for campers across the Easter weekend.
She said overall, most people in the area were behaving but there had been a few warnings issued due to misunderstandings.
One example was a person visiting the area on weekends to stay in a caravan on a bush block they owned.
Leading Senior Constable Harris said the person needed to decide between staying in the caravan full-time, or at their permanent residence.
"This isn't a dwelling, it's a bush block with a caravan on it," she said.
However, others have used a loophole to stay in the region.
Leading Senior Constable Harris said people who owned bed and breakfasts and holiday apartments in the area had headed to Halls Gap.
She said owners were staying at the properties and performing maintenance while there were no guests.
"Technically because they're using it as a business, it's not classed as a private residence," she said.
"Once they're here they're not getting out, doing all the touristy things. They're staying within the premises."
Leading Senior Constable Harris said thanked people for following the rules.
"It's been really good out here," she said.
