After a string of closures and modified trading since the state and federal governments implemented stage one of a shutdown of non-essential activity across the country from noon on Monday, chief executive Marc Sleeman said he had been visiting partners of the tourism body to offer advice.
"We're one agency who's out there in the region talking to our partners," he said.
"I'm actively in the field lending that word of advice. I'm talking to a lot of government departments across the region as well to make sure our communications are consistent and we're there to support each other.
"We're putting things in place to ensure our region can bounce back very quickly."
Mr Sleeman said he believed the Grampians would be a destination people would want to use to get out of Melbourne, when it was appropriate to do so.
"There will be limited international travel, limited interstate travel and there will be 5 million people in Melbourne looking for that nature escape," he said.
"Once we're ready to roll, we'll have some really detailed tactical marketing plans to go bang. We'll be hitting the target really hard. We've got a united approach on how the region is going to bounce back quickly."
Mr Sleeman said he was on the phone daily lending an ear to those who need it.
"This situation is unprecedented. No one has ever been through this before," he said.
"The words self-isolation are around but it doesn't mean isolation. We're all here for each other."
