On Monday November 18 about 12.30pm a female hiker was walking back down the Pinnacle through Silent Street near the peak when she twisted her right ankle.

Leading Senior Constable Kellie Harris said due to the location the hiker an air ambulance had to be called in to airlift the woman out.

"She sustained a possible fracture to her right ankle," Leading Senior Constable Harris said.

"While emergency services were finishing up with her, they received another job about 4.30pm for another injury, but this time on the Sundial walking track.

"It was a male hiker walking back from the Pinnacle. He's tripped over and sustained an injury to his knee.

"Because emergency services were still in the area, they attended that one as a group and stretchered him out to a waiting roadside ambulance. He was then transported to hospital for assessment."

Leading Senior Constable Harris said the combined effort took about six hours and people needed to be more aware of what they were doing to limit the strain on emergency services.

"The big thing for us is people need to be mindful, wear appropriate shoes, look where they're walking, and concentrate, because obviously it does tie up a lot of resources," she said.

"You're talking two events taking six hours - that's an ambulance off the road, the SES are tied up, so it does put a bit of a strain on the resources here."
