The club held a come and try night in October and attracted 43 registered athletes ahead of its first competition.
Club president Melissa Perry said the establishment of the club aimed to give children more opportunities to train locally and compete.
"People had to travel at least 40 minutes to get to their nearest Little Athletics Centre and they just had no option," she said. "They are so into it and eager. We're putting our first relay team into the regionals in November."
The club is already experiencing some success.
"We've got a multi-class athlete and he competed at the deaf sports in Doncaster last week," Perry said.
The club has already received several grants, including VicHealth Active Club Grants funding.
The funding is worth $1290 and will help introduce Little Athletics Victoria's OnTrack Program, which is a modified athletics program focused on fun and teaching fundamental motor skills of running, jumping, hopping and throwing in a non-competitive environment.
The club was also successful in its grant application to Coles Little Athletics Community fund worth $4400, which will go toards new equipment.
"Our grant will go to scissor mats, a portable trolley and a portable discus cage," Perry said.
The Ararat RSL also gave the club a grant worth $1500 towards the purchase of uniforms.
They are a major sponsor for Little Athletics Australia.
The club has a Facebook page which can be found here.
