Headlining the re-signings are Nigel Sibson and Andrew Cameron.
Football operations manager Matt Delzotto said the process of resigning the players wasn't too difficult, most have agreed to stay at the Lions.
"It's important our current playing group know their value and know how much they mean to the club," he said.
"It's important to have those conversations with each individual players which we have done.
"We've also received some really good feedback in terms of the direction of the club, not just for 2020, but well beyond that as well."
Mr Delzotto said by having the conversations with the players there were areas highlighted which are needed for improvement.
"They were highlighted by members of the playing group and our football department," he said.
"So even though we had the success we did in 2019, we're not going to sit back and stay stagnate.
"There is no room for complacency in country football anymore and you have to assess where the club is at and where your list is at and look at what you can do to keep improving it."
Mr Delzotto said nothing would change from the five-year plan which was put in place.
"We're probably a bit ahead of where we thought we might be, and that's ok," he said.
"But we need to stick to the course. We want to make sure the club has sustained success."
Mr Delzotto said the club would be on the lookout to continue its relationship with the Tiwi Islands.
"We're not sure which players we will get at this stage," he said.
"From now until March will we in talks with players to see who would be the right fit at our club"
"It makes our job a little easier with Nigel up there and takes some stress out of getting them here," Delzotto said.
Great Western will start its pre-season training on November 19.
"We started preseason last year really early and obviously it was a long season for our players as well," Delzotto said.
"It was a long season for a lot of the guys but the playing group has really driven the need to get back out there because they are already doing their own sessions."
