Ararat's Ella Wood has been drafted to Richmond Football Club.
The former Ararat Storm player was picked as number 31 in the 2020 AFLW draft.
Wood was invited to play with the Western Bulldogs VLFW 2019 side and featured in their grand final loss.
The 18-year-old Ararat College student missed her final day of school today to attend the draft with her parents and twin sister while family and supporters watch on at home.
Speaking to the Ararat Advertiser in the lead up to the draft, Wood said she was excited and nervous for the day to arrive.
Wood will join her teammate from the Great Western Victoria Rebels who Richmond picked up at number seven.
