The Golden Gateway Festival is gearing up entertain the Ararat community with the launch of the family fun day and festival ball on Friday night and 10 days full of activities.
Friday October 18
Family Fun Night, Elizabeth Park, High Street 4pm - 5.30pm
Hosted by Ararat Party Hire. Family Fun with non stop rides on Adult Jumping Castle, Giant Slide, Small Combo, Mini Gold and V8 Simulators. Not to mention Fairy Floss and Popcorn. $20 per family for 1.5 hours of festival fun.
Crowning of 2019 Festival King 4.30pm
Join us for the crowing of this years Festival King at our 'Family Fun' at Elizabeth Park, High Street
Golden Gateway Festival Launch 6pm - 8pm
Proudly sponsored by Ararat Y's Menettes Catering. The reception is to introduce the Queen Quest Entrants and their partners, along with committee members, judges, officials and major sponsors and also to acknowledge and thank all volunteers.
Golden Ararat Golden Gateway Gala Ball 8pm
The Festival Queen will be announced and the Coronation Ceremony will be performed by 2017 Queen and Official Party. Band performing this year is "No Mistake".
Sunday October 20
Ararat Golden Gateway Festival Baby Show 11am - 2pm
Baby show time is a leading baby show organisation supporting Kids with Cancer Foundation Australia. Children from birth to six-years-old are invited to join the fun. Entry to the show is $11 and each additional novelty section is $5. Register online at www.babyshowtime.com.au
Ararat Golden Gateway Festival Variety Concert 2.30pm - 4pm
Featuring local artists both children and adults. Come as a group or by yourself and witness local talent in a great atmosphere. Better still come with friends and family and see the homegrown talent that Ararat and surrounds have to offer. The concert is at the Ararat Town Hall. Admission is $2. Children under 12 free.
Monday October 21
Mary North Memorial and Club Pool Championship
Nominations accepted before Tuesday October 16, $5 entry to be paid at Leopold Hotel. All entry fees donated to the Royal Children's Hospital in memory of the late Mary North.
B grade qualifying rounds will be held on Monday October 21: players to meet at the Leopold Hotel by 6.45pm. A grade qualifying rounds will be held Tuesday October 22: players to meet at the Ararat Hotel by 6.45pm.

Sunday October 27
9am Billy Cart Racing Will be conducted before the procession on Barkley Street. Hosted by the Ararat Y's Men's Club and sponsored by Coiltek.
11am Golden Gateway Festival Parade Beginning Edith Cavell Reserve Barkley Street, continues along Barley Street, left into Vincent Street, Campbell Street, Blake Street, and finishes inside the Russell T White showgrounds at the Ararat Show.
