Senior Constable Heath Martin said a 42-year-old Horsham man lost control at a right-hand bend on the road at quarter to five, coming off his bike and hitting trees.
"He died at the scene," Senior Constable Martin said.
"The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but weather and road conditions don't seem to have played a part.
"There were no witnesses to the collision - a passerby came across the scene after it happened. If anyone saw the bike travelling south around that time they can contact Horsham police on 5382 9200."
The man's family thanked people for their "love and support" following the crash. They asked people to respect their privacy during this time.
