Ararat's Ella Wood played in the VFLW grand final on Sunday as Western Bulldogs' 23rd player.
The Dogs were defeated by Collingwood, 37 points was the final margin.
A five-goal to none second half saw the Magpies stretch a five-point half time advantage to a hefty full-time lead and claim the silverware.
Wood recorded two disposals in the game.
Sunday was Wood's seventh game for the Western Bulldogs in the 2019 season.
The young 18-year-old has displayed her talent over the season with an average of 6.7 disposals per game.
Wood's standout game for the season was against the Falcons in round 16, with 13 disposals and one goal to her name.
After the devastating loss on the weekend, Wood's attention now turns to the 2019 AFLW Draft Combine, held in Melbourne from Tuesday, October 1 to Friday, October 4. The combine is prior to the draft.
The event puts draft prospects through their paces. It's an opportunity for AFLW clubs to see and consider players' physical abilities and readiness for AFLW.
"I will be continuing my training for the combine which will come around soon," Wood said.
"Before I know it the draft will be here. I hope I get picked up but it's a wait and see scenario. You never know what will happen but I know I'll give it my best shot."
The AFLW Draft is an annual event, postseason when young players are selected by AFLW clubs for the following year. To be eligible for the draft, footballers must be 18 years of age in the year that they are picked for.
The 2019 AFLW Draft will be held on Tuesday, October 22 from 10.30am.
Wood said she had to balance her football commitments with her studying requirements in 2019.
"I am still in school at Ararat College," she said.
"I'm not sure what I want to study or do when I finish school if I don't play football.
"I guess I will just wait and see and make a decision after the combine and see what happens in the next few months."
Wood's former teammate from Ararat Storm, Georgia Clarke was picked up in round two at number 24 in the 2018 draft.
