NORTHERN Grampians residents needing urgent medical attention will be assessed by a senior nurse when they arrive at Stawell Regional Health from Sunday September 22.

The service has warned it will experience a "short-term, unplanned reduction in medical capacity" between 3.30pm on Sunday and 8am Monday September 23.
"Anyone presenting to Urgent Care Centre during this time will have a comprehensive assessment by a senior nurse," a post on the service's Facebook page said on Friday.
"Where medical care is considered necessary, our staff will arrange a telehealth consultation with an emergency doctor or transfer to the nearest appropriate hospital.
"If you have a medical emergency please contact 000."
There were three similar incidents in 2018.
