After 32 years living here the pair are moving to Adelaide to be closer to their family.
It is always difficult to explain how much of an impact someone has had on a rural community, and it is no different with the Logans.
Between the two of them they have been involved with East Grampians Health Service, the Ararat Regional Business Association, the Ararat VRI Bowls Club, Ararat RSL, Chalambar Golf and Bowls Club, and more.
Mr Logan is also a former Ararat Rural City councillor.
MARRIED FOR NEARLY 50 YEARS: HOW THE LOGANS MET
They both said it was an extremely tough decision, which reflected highly on their time in the town.
"It's hard to leave," Mr Logan said. "When we first came here it was very welcoming."
The pair moved to Ararat in 1987 when Mr Logan was promoted at his job with the State Bank.
Mrs Logan remembered the first day they rolled into town.
"It has been a great town," Mrs Logan said.
"We were two adults and two children coming into town on a stinking hot day. Frank sent me into the bank to get the key to the house and I got back into the car and drove up to the house."
The bank provided the property for the couple, and it was located on Barkly Street.
They eventually moved across the road to their second property in Ararat.
"We virtually moved the furniture across the road," Mr Logan said.
Mrs Logan said it was a marvelous situation.
"I asked for a new bathroom and got a new house instead," she said.
Now they are saying goodbye and looking to the future.
"We've made great friends and acquaintances and overall it's been very good," Mr Logan said.
"I can't fault what Ararat has offered us and given us. It's very hard to pull yourself away - it's been a very tough decision."
"It was only after discussion with our children we decided we were going to make that sea change."
Mr Logan said his new home would have to work hard to match up to Ararat - particularly the bowls clubs.
"No matter what bowls club I join over there it's going to be very tough to come to what we've had here with the friendships and everything else," he said.
"From both of us, we just can't thank Ararat enough."
Murray Jensen is a friend of the Logans and a member of the bowls club.
"They've been involved in a lot of community activities and they'll be sadly missed," he said.
"They've been great contributors of the Ararat VRI Bowls Club - they've been there for around the 30 year mark. Both of them have been very active members, and have been involved in all sorts of positions.
"We'll miss their smiling faces around the club. They are going to leave big shoes to fill."
