It's after Mount William recorded gusts of 100kmh early on Friday.
The bureau's latest severe weather warning, issued at 4.22pm, says a westerly airflow will continue across the state tonight. Another cold front to move through southern Victoria during Saturday morning.
"Damaging west to northwesterly winds averaging 60 to 70km/h with peak gusts of 90km/h are likely near the coast and also over elevated areas (above 800 metres) of Victoria including the Grampians, the Otway Ranges and Strzelecki Ranges during tonight and Saturday morning," the warning said.
Locations which may be affected include Warrnambool, Portland, Ararat, Wonthaggi, Falls Creek and Omeo.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
* Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
* Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
* Keep clear of fallen power lines;
The next Severe Weather Warning will be issued by 11:00 pm AEST Friday.
Rainfall-wise Stawell has received 5.8 milimetres since 9am, after more than 20 milimetres in the 24-hour period prior to that.
