Schools across western Victoria including at Horsham, Halls Gap, Moyston and Willaura have won big as part of a state government maintenance program.
Eleven schools from across the region were allocated grants ranging from $5000 to $20,000 on Tuesday as part of the Victorian government's 2019-20 planned maintenance program.
The funding allows for maintenance to whatever the individual school requires.
Halls Gap Primary School received $5000 of funding.
Halls Gap principal Ja San Trimble said with her school growing, the money will help keep up with the increasing demand.
"We now have 52 students and are not getting any smaller," she said.
"$5000 adds to the bucket of money we have fundraised and saved and scrimped for to keep upgrading and making things better."
Ms Trimble said she has a few ideas of where the money can be put to use.
"We are always looking at ways to creatively renovate our gym which is pretty much just a shed," she said.
"It is a large space but is under utilised so that is something we could look at.
"We also have three classrooms which are all used as classrooms, so it would be nice to look at creating another teaching space."
Western Victoria MP Jaala Pulford said it is crucial to fund schools to keep their facilities up to date.
"Students in western Victoria should have access to a great school no matter where they live and I'm proud we are investing in important maintenance to schools so students have the first-rate facilities they deserve," she said.
"Our schools in western Victoria do everything possible to get the most out of their students, so it is wonderful news that they are among the schools set to share in this maintenance funding."
A new evaluation system was put in place last yea to create a more timely and targeted allocation of the maintenance program funding.
Schools receiving the funding in western Victoria include:
$20,000: Lake Bolac College
$15,000: Horsham College, Elmhurst Primary School, St Arnaud Primary School
$10,000: Willaura Primary School
$5000: Moyston Primary School, Halls Gap Primary School, Kaniva College, Concongella Primary School, Landsborough Primary School, Trawalla Primary School $5,000
