Murnane brings a wealth of experience for the A Grade position.
She previously coached Swan Hill in the Murray Valley Netball League, leading their A Grade and under-17 teams during the 2010-14 seasons.
Murnane also played for the Eagles last season, helping the club win the Mininera and District Netball Association B Grade grand final against Tatyoon.
She said accepting the Eagles’ coaching job was a perfect fit and complemented her work as a teacher.
“Being a teacher, I enjoy working in a coaching capacity,” she said.
“It just seemed the right choice to help step in and offer some knowledge.”
She said this season was all about developing players.
She wants to build on the 10th spot in which the A Grade team finished. They missed finals for the fifth year in a row.
The club’s best season was 2015, when they finished eighth on the ladder.
“(This season) is going to pretty much be a developing season and then build up on skills and hopefully be a challenge in the future,” she said.
“Our strategy for the next few years is to develop our younger players into senior players.”
