The Ararat Redbacks suffered a quarter-final loss to Bellarine Storm on Friday night, going down by 16 points at the Bellarine Sports Centre.

However, the loss hasn’t overshadowed coach Marcus Jenkins’ happiness with the team’s overall performance.
Jenkins said the Bellarine team excelled in the last three minutes of the match.
“I couldn’t have more proud with the way they performed in the three quarters,” he said.
“It was just their veteran skills took over in the end.
“Bellarine have got three old players that are very experienced and worked well together in the last three minutes.”
At one point during the season, the Redbacks looked like they could be missing finals, especially after their one win and seven loss record.
But Jenkins was pleased on how determined the team was to make the finals and said the team should hold their heads up high after a great season.
“The boys played their hearts out and the community should be proud of where they got to in the season,” he said.
“To the boys’ credit, it was just their willingness to stick together that got us in the finals.”
