"We've agreed to meet sometime, probably the end of February," the president told reporters on the White House lawn on Saturday.
"We've picked a country but we will be announcing it in the future."
Trump met with top North Korean negotiator Kim Yong Chol at the White House on Friday.
The president called the two-hour long meeting "incredible" and "very good".
"Kim Jong-un is looking very forward to it and so am I," Trump said of the second summit.
"We've made a lot of progress that has not been reported by the media."
Trump became the first sitting US president to meet a North Korean leader when he held a summit with Kim in Singapore last year.
Vietnam has been considered a leading candidate to host the second meeting.
