The Clubbies have signed two players in James McLeod and Jack Hoffman, who have already played three games this season.
However, it was an area in which president Cam Kimber wanted to improve.
“It’s always good to see new faces and people enjoying their cricket, which is what we want them to do,” he said.
“Jack Hoffman is an up and coming leg spinner whereas Mcleod is a bit of an all rounder, a good solid batter and not a bad medium pace bowler.”
Kimber said that signing those two players would create a bit of depth to the side, especially when cricket clubs around the area were struggling.
“We were looking at improving our depth and those two players certainly do that,” he said.
“It’s always a struggle to get two sides up every week and they are definitely helping to do that.”
On that topic, Kimber believes that the sport is not appealing to the juniors as it once was, and believes they would rather do something else.
“I just don’t think many people are playing cricket anymore and people would much rather do other things,” he said.
“I think cricket needs to be presented a little bit better and make it a little more enticing and exciting.
“People are looking to other things that are more exciting than cricket I suppose.”
