The event will place a spotlight on the recently launched Dhelk Dja Partnership Agreement, Safe Our Way, built upon the foundation of Aboriginal self-determination to ensure Aboriginal people, families and communities are free from violence.
Keynote speaker is journalist Bridget Brennan.
Ms Brennan is a Dja Dja Wurrung, Yorta Yorta woman who grew up near Buangor.
She is the ABC's national Indigenous affairs correspondent, covering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs, politics and social issues across Australia.
Bridget will describe her journey and the insights her personal experience and professional work have given her.
Following Ms Brennan’s presentation, Sissy Austin will lead a discussion.
Ms Austin is a proud Gunditjmara woman who was recently appointed inclusion and fairness co-coordinator at the CFA.
Ms Austin is also a kinship carer and an executive member on the Victorian Koorie Youth Council's executive committee.
She believes strongly in the power of First Nations women and the power of self-determination for Aboriginal people and communities.
Ms Austin's culture, belief and values are at the centre of all that she does in her personal and professional life.
