In day one of round four competition, third-placed Buangor-Tatyoon will look to build towards the strength the clubs had anticipated when they joined the two teams this season.
The tight contest is on the mutual turf of Alexander Oval in Ararat.
Fourth-placed Pomonal has started the 2018-19 season with mixed results.
Pomonal will need to look at its batsmen to form partnerships and put some runs on the board against one of the best bowling attacks in the association, Buangor-Tatyoon.
Recording the lowest number of runs made in the association, Pomonal were unable to place pressure on top four side, Youth Club, last round.
Buangor-Tatyoon captain Michael Harricks will return to the side this week and will look to continue his outstanding bowling form.
Swifts-Great Western will host St Andrews at Great Western on Saturday.
Ladder leaders Swifts-Great Western will go in favourites against fifth-placed St Andrews.
The Combine proved too strong for Halls Gap and was able to pinch the outright win last round.
Recording only one win for the season, St Andrews has found it tough going in the past two rounds against stronger teams.
St Andrews struggled to find momentum against Buangor-Tatyoon’s bowlers – something they will be looking to improve going into this round.
Youth Club will play on the turf wicket at Central Park for the first time as they take on Aradale.
Youth Club will be looking at their statistics and building a game plan around boosting percentage as they go in favourites for the match.
Captain Nic Baird said while the team would look at past rounds, it was reluctant to count out any team on a turf wicket.
“We’re all very excited to play on the turf wicket for the first time this season,” he said.
Clubber Cam Kimber has been in fantastic form in recent rounds with both ball and bat.
”The turf will be a good challenge for everyone. It will be something different for Cam and the rest of the bowlers to have a bowl on,” Baird said.
Aradale is yet to register a win for the season and will hope to push the Clubbers to get their first one on the board.
Aradale is sixth placed with one win from the top four.
Halls Gap has the bye this round.
