PROBUS Club of Ararat has purchased a defibrillator to take along on its mystery excursions and caravan trips following two successful grant applications.

The grants came from the Ararat RSL and Pitch Music Arts and Community, and secretary Rod McClurg said the purchase would not have been possible without them.
“We are non profit organisation and we do not fund raise,” he said.
“To obtain sufficient funds we applied for grants locally and were successful … this together with a member donation gave us sufficient funds to purchase the machine.
“The defibrillator is portable and will be available at meetings and all outings we participate in.”
The machine will increase the safety of club members, who will receive training in how to operate it.
