Ararat was the venue for three one-sided matches against Stawell Golf, Mick Dowd was in awesome form with a big win over Gary Blackman looking to set up a possible victory, but once again it was the in-form bowlers from Golf, Greg Reading and Brian Adamson who got the visitors home in a tight one.
Aradale at home against Landsborough got themselves back in the race for the finals with a good win on all three rinks, Gary Jamieson was the big winner on the day with the other two rinks getting wins in close results.
Lake Bolac at home against Chalambar would have been confident of giving the visitors a run for their money, but the visitors came to play and gave the Bolac boys an old fashion touch up and its second week of not getting any points, this result has pushed them from top of the ladder two weeks ago to out of the top four and down to sixth.
Tony Carra, who is in great form, was the best-performed rink for the visitors up by 24 shots.
On the ladder, we now see Chalambar on top of the ladder one point ahead of Stawell. Stawell Golf sits third with V.R.I close behind, Aradale and Lake Bolac sit outside the four by only a couple of shots, Ararat and Landsborough sit 7th and 8th and are sure to have a lot to say on who makes the finals.
