On Thursday, the Victorian Socialists nominated teacher Bronwyn Jennings to run at the upcoming election on November 24.
The nomination came on the same day it was announced the party would have candidates in all lower house electorates in Western Victoria.
“We’re really proud to announce that every one of our candidates is a fighter and a campaigner for workers’ rights and a better deal for all working-class Victorians,” lead western region Victorian Socialist candidate Tim Gooden said.
Ms Jennings, from Maryborough, said she has a focus on key issues in the electorate.
”We desperately need more sustainable jobs throughout the western region,” she said.
“Housing has become a major problem for many people too. Victorian Socialists want 50,000 new public housing units. We are sick of seeing valuable public housing stock sold off and people left homeless..
Ms Jennings said healthcare and domesitc violence is also key issues she wants to address.
