A casual dress day was held with everyone encouraged to wear “something blue” to go with the theme of the FreezeMND campaign.
Teachers and staff put their warmth and comfort on the line at the lunchtime break, braving an ice cold dunk tank with students queuing up to be the ones to knock their teachers into the freezing waters.
“The lines were crazy long, the kids weren’t going to miss a chance to dunk their teachers,” Stawell Primary School teacher Lisa Fleming said.
“We had 11 staff members participate, all for a good cause.”
The teachers’ efforts were rewarded in the end, with $1000 raised for the FightMND foundation.
“We were blown away with the support we had from the students, parents and families,” Miss Fleming said.
“With the hype of the big freeze and Daniher’s Drive we thought it would be great to get involved and it turned out to be a truly amazing experience.
“We were also able to take two of our student leaders to the Daniher’s Drive and present Neale Daniher himself with the amount we raised which was very special.”
