A PERSON has been taken to hospital after a three-car collision on the Western Highway in Ararat on Thursday about 6pm.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Golf Links Road and Lambert Road.
Ararat police Acting Sergeant Trevor Stephenson said one of four people involved in the collision was taken to hospital in Ballarat.
“The Western Highway was blocked from both ends due to the collision for approximately an hour,” Acting Sergeant Stephenson said.
A Facebook user wrote to the Ararat Advertiser: “Avoid heading to Ararat from Stawell, the highway is blocked. Managed to get in to Ararat, but you won’t now. Banking up from golf course turn off out past the 100km sign as I left Ararat”.
Another Facebook user reported: “Massive crash at chalambar turn-off”.
Acting Sergeant Stephenson said the highway is now clear.
The VicEmergency app said the area was cleared at 8.03pm
