Inaccuracy cost the Hawks in their 21-point loss to Penshurst on Saturday.

The Hawks had just one scoring shot less than the Bombers with the home team proving more efficient in the forward line late in the game to get the victory.

The home team had their own problems in front of goal in the opening term, kicking 2.5 to trail Tatyoon at the first break but improved in the second quarter, kicking 3.1 to go into half time eight points adrift of the Hawks.

The third term was a balanced affair with the Bombers reducing the deficit to just five points going into the final quarter.

It was a tense final term as both teams had their chances but it was the home team that edged ahead and got the win 14.10.94 to 10.13.73.

Trevor-John Wanganeed and Tim McDougall both kicked three majors for the Hawks with Alex McDougall named the Hawks’ best player in the loss.
